Leslye Headland is the creator and showrunner of The Acolyte. Headland is known for her work on the Netflix series Russian Doll. She is also a writer and director on the upcoming Star Wars film Rogue Squadron.

The cast of The Acolyte includes Amandla Stenberg, Lee Jung-jae, Manny Jacinto, Jodie Turner-Smith, and Dafne Keen. The series is scheduled to premiere on Disney+ in 2023.
